Good Things Happen....

Rasheeda Nixon works at NOFO at the Pig in Raleigh. Last week she received a note from the Rose Family from Baltimore, Maryland.
Seems that Rasheeda had waited on the Roses at lunch one day. Mr. Rose realized later that he had misfigured his tip and took the time to write Rasheeda a very nice note and send her the extra tip money.
Rasheeda was beaming & it was not the tip that made her smile. It was the idea that someone would take the time and make the effort to say "you did a good job and" I made a mistake that I'd like to correct."
We thank the Roses for this simple act of kindness. It has made us all smile and restore our faith in people!

West & Brock's Week Two

We made the commitment and now Brock is totally on homemade dogfood and treats. We added a tiny bit more time in the kitchen which means I actually have busy work to do while my coffee brews in the morning. My starting point was one whole chicken cooked and deboned. I then mixed in beans, brown rice and carrots served it up with or without yogurt. I went organic and used no spices. The other main dish I tried was hamburger and butterbeans with rice. Grit cakes and oat cookies rounded out this weeks menu. Small containers for the freezer are a god send!

West & Brock's Canine Culinary Adventures!

Week One
With some reading and much study, I am ready to transition my lab, Brock, of of commerical pet food. I can suddenly bypass the dog food aisle and get Brock's groceries right there with mine. Lots of vegtables, grains, oats and organic meats. Kibble gets mixed in with his new menu this week as Brock's stomach can adjust to his new diet.
