November Forum

The Forum owners, Swain & Associates, are very generous and are great about letting folks use the Forum for community functions. The November 7 March of Dimes event was fabulous, and they raised lots of money.

Swain kicked off a breast cancer awareness campaign for the Forum by donating $10,000 and getting us all involved in raising money for the cause.

NoFo is also paricipating in the Pink Processing program. We'll soon have our very pink credit card processor and a percentage of every card purchase will go directly to breast cancer research.

The Elf on the Shelf new plush elves have arrived. Seems that childeren did not like having to send Elfie back to Santa on December 25. They wanted him out all year to tell their secrets to. Anyway, the company solved this problem by making another elf. There's a 19" and a 32" to choose from.

Evidently, girls have wanted a female elf... maybe boys have wanted their elf to be female too. Who knows? So, the company has made an elf skirt.

One simply leaves the skirt out where Elfie can find it. If Elfie dons the skirt, it's a she. How's that for an interesting & easy solution to a complicated problem?

We don't think that the Elf Activity Book gets the attention that it should. It's really well done and provides hours of constructive fun for younger children. Check it out.

West Riddick and Company will do and Elf event again this year. Watch for the date.

We are disappointed. Our Madame Alexander 18" Friends Dolls that were due September 1 are not even going to ship before December 1. Bummer!

These dolls are wonderful & have the classic Madame Alexander fine features, the best hair and cool clothes!

They are going to give American Girl Dolls a run for their money. These girls are unbelievably priced at $39.95. Who believes it? And, the clothes fit American Girls Dolls, too.

They're worth waiting for.

We have the BEST cookies this year, and as you can probably tell, we're excited about it!

We've just met Moma Dip's granddaughter, Tanya. She's got her own company now and still manages Mama Dips. She's smart & beautiful, too.

Anyway, her pecan cookies and her chocolate pecan cookies are scrumptious. You've got to try them. They're the absolute best Christmas gift! But you'll need to order early because Tanya bakes them herself... and she's a busy girl.

We've been surprised at how many Nofolks know Tates Bakery from South Hampton. We carry these flavors of Tate's award winning crisp cookies, and have a time keeping our sheves stocked.

Effie's Oatcakes are a different type of cookie. They aren't so sweet and have a nutty flavor.

We LOVE them with a cup of tea and for snacking. We have one customer who's clearly addicted and buys multiple bags at a time. He loves the Oatcakes with cheddar.

Forum November

We realize that our "right-sized" space at the Forum seems smaller, but what you might not realize is that we carry the same product as before. We just have less of each product on the floor. It means we have to restock constantly.

We, of course, think our products are well merchandised and visible. So, correct us if we're wrong & you can't find what you're looking for. We bet it's right here and we're so happy to give you a personal tour of our space or locate the product you're looking for.

The new body scurbs from Down to Earth in Raleigh are just divine. The owner, Lisa , is a personal fitness trainer, a former flight instructor, and a kitchen chemist. She's been tinkering around with homemade beauty products since she was a tween.

How wonderful to have a product that simply makes you feel good! The aroma of grapefruit, lemongrass, spearmint, lime or eucalyptus lifts your spirits immediately. The salt & oils leave your skin smooth & soft. Treat yourself today!

Look for Lisa's personal appearances at both NoFo's.

We hate to see daylight savings time end. We like light at the end of our day as well as the end of the tunnel we sometimes find ourselves in. We have given up and given in - well begin putting our christmas merchandise out this week. We feel forced to do it simply to compete witht the stores that have had christmas out since August.

We love Thanksgiving. It's our very favorite holiday and we're not happy that Thanksgiving tends to be overlooked and given short - shift
